Stephanie + Jonathan = True Romance Session

Stephanie & Jonathan trusted me enough to book me for their special day without meeting me in person, so their engagement session was also our first time getting to know each other even better than through the emails we have been exchanging.  When first meeting them it is obvious what a beautiful couple the two of them are, but it does not take long to absolutely just be in awe of their inner beauty and the beauty of the love that they have for one another.

Stephanie’s dream was to have snow for her engagement photos, but with this unpredictable winter and my schedule, we had to put something on the calendar not knowing what cards the weather would be dealing that day.  We planned to meet at Hartwood Acres so that we could utilize indoors as well as outdoors in the chance that we were just going to have a dreary, snow-less, winter background (not that I don’t love working those days either!)  As I headed out that day I drove through an incredible snow squall and I thought for sure that Stephanie was going to get her wish, but upon arriving at Hartwood was greeted with blue skies and not a flake of snow in the air.  Just as we were ready to start shooting in the mansion I noticed a couple of snowflakes outdoors and suggested that we grab a couple of shots just in case it came and went as quick as the last storm.  Boy was I wrong!!  We were able to create some intimate portraits in the Grand Hall and staircases indoors where it was nice and toasty before we stepped out in what soon became a full out blizzard!

Hartwood Acres is beautiful anytime of year for photo sessions, but add a couple so much in love and some huge snowflakes and the place is magical.  We grabbed some photos around the mansion before heading down to the barn since both Stephanie and Jonathan have a love for horses.  They were so natural together and didn’t need direction to enjoy each other!  They were so fun to shoot and I am thrilled with the results from our winter wonderland session.  Cannot wait to see what these two bring to their May wedding.  I know the day will be full of love and I am so thrilled to be a part of it!
